Official Community Forum
28th February 2026
Starting today we are hosting our own forum. We want to create a space for players to discuss our games and be able to reach out to developers themselves.

Join the Pixel Packers community and give us feedback, report bugs or just talk about our games!

We are using myBB for our forum. It is open source and can easily be self-hosted. While it looks a bit outdated the software makes it easy for everyone to engage with the developers, even without registering.

Hosting a community forum is a new territory for us so expect more changes in the forum in the future. If you have ideas and suggestions regarding the forum, just reach out to us using the forum directly. We are grateful for any kind of feedback!

No registration required!

Just be aware that your posts have to be approved by a moderator before being publicly visible if you are not registered.

Who is this for?

We want to provide an easy way to reach the developers without requiring specific third party services. If you have questions, feedback of any kind or problems with a game you can easily reach out to us this way. There is a sub-forum for each released game.

We also want to provide an official place for players to talk about our games, exchange ideas and help each other out.

You can even provide suggestions and feedback regarding the forum itself.

Why myBB?

It is important for us that the configure and maintainence effort is minimized and myBB is easy to setup and meets all our requirements. Forums can be nested multiple levels deep which makes structuring everything a breeze should the need arise to group forums over multiple levels.

We wanted to have a real forum. This means a dedicated thread for one topic and not an endless stream of chat messages where information gets lost and questions are often left unanswered. It is also important to us that the information is publicly available and does not require a registration just to see the content.

We also like the nostalgic flair and the oldschool look and feel. We are well aware of the shortcomings the software has. And some features are missing that people would expect from a modern software. While the amount of forum users remains small we will stick to myBB. If the need arises for more features we will take another look at the alternatives. The best way to help us with this is to use the forum and provide us feedback what you would expect the forum to have.

Future alternatives

Flarum

We were also looking at other forum software, for example Flarum. While it looks more modern it also seems like more work to setup. We really like the responsive design which makes the forum more accessible on mobile devices. Depending on user feedback we might come back and take a second look at it.

Discourse

While many big communities choose Discourse for their forums, it feels a bit overwhelming and too complex for our current requirements. If the need arises in the future and myBB can't handle the forums any more, we will give it another chance.
